Let’s Get Together!

We are the Timber & Twine Collective, established by Mich & Penny from a shared passion for collecting historical and intriguing pieces found in storage unit auctions, yard sales, and flea markets. As collectors ourselves, we wanted to create an opportunity for others to experience the joy of finding that perfect item to enhance their collections, and we also wanted to provide social events that gather people together for a fun night out, doing something they love with other people who share the same interests.

Join our community Collective and connect with other customers of Gemini Dogs, other locals in the Greater Boston area, and other students at the music school, to explore shared hobbies and interests and maybe even discovering some unique finds to add to your collections. If we know what you are looking for, we can scout the auctions and see what we can find for you, as well! We sell on eBay and host WhatNot auctions, and we also decorate and sell items at our events and of course the doggie items we sell right in the lobby at Gemini Dogs!

What is a Collective?

Many adults grapple with the desire to be more social, yet find the process of making new friends daunting. Life's responsibilities, busy schedules, and the comfort of established routines can create barriers to meeting new people. Unlike the simplicity of childhood friendships formed on the playground, adult connections often require more effort and intention, leading to feelings of isolation. As social dynamics shift, many are left wondering where to start, prompting a search for opportunities to engage with others in meaningful ways.

Collectors often seek to connect with others who share their passions, finding joy in the shared enthusiasm for unique items like skeleton keys or vintage sheet music. The thrill of discovering someone who understands the allure of these artifacts can transform a solitary pursuit into a vibrant exchange of stories and insights. Whether it's discussing the craftsmanship behind a delicate vase or reminiscing about the melodies captured on the pages of a musical score, these conversations not only deepen appreciation but also foster a sense of community among enthusiasts. The camaraderie that emerges from such connections makes the collecting journey even more enjoyable and fulfilling.

After launching our re-selling efforts on eBay, we saw the potential for a physical store. We found an appealing space—a house from the 1900s that once operated as a bar—and envisioned a new kind of business. This idea sparked when we thought about using our collection of items to transform a space for specific events, such as a Game Night. Imagine displays featuring vintage board games, an antique chess board, an original dart board, and classic Monopoly sets, with tiny pewter animals as game pieces.

The inspiration behind this concept is personal; I enjoy playing board games, but my wife and kids don't share the enthusiasm. What if we could gather all the locals who appreciate board games in one welcoming environment while also showcasing our collection for purchase?

The 1900's bar didn't have the right parking, but I'm determined not to let that hinder our progress. We have an additional physical location that is spacious enough for gatherings, equipped with tables, chairs, heat, and air conditioning. Therefore, we're opting to rent the space we need from our other business. Currently, events will be hosted in Littleton, MA, at the Gemini Dogs Training & Events facility, which is empty at times, and free of dogs... This is an excellent solution as we continue to hunt for the perfect location for our store and gathering place.
